On Monday morning at 8 o’clock, radiant Nil with her husband and two wonderful children were waiting for us in the hotel. Together we put our suitcases on the bus and started our four-hour trip to the Cappadocia, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Central Turkey.

We spent the night at the luxurious cave hotel of the Ürgüp, where there was charming spiral staircase – and climbing on that beautiful staircase was an act of courage.

On our way to the Ürgüp we sat on the bus, our noses against the window – looking and wondering where are we. The sloping landscape with long valleys, in the centre of which there are cone-shaped rock formations in a cluster, many of them several hundred meters high. There are also columns that look like gigantic stone mushrooms and chimneys.

The day in Cappadocia will remain in our memory for a long time and the greatest thanks to Nil and his family for this trip.

On Tuesday morning, we thanked our hosts and said goodbyes to the Demisoscaves hotel’s kind family and started our trip to Tarsus.

In Tarsus, we were greeted by the school full of marvelous brown-eyed children and their cheerful teachers. There was a children´s day celebration going on – full of fun, dancing and playing. In addition, a welcome reception by the school team and an Anton-led project meeting and a school-based excursion took place.

Wednesday was the day of the projects and boxes. We had a project meeting where Spanish, Czech and Dutch teachers introduced their boxes. Then we saw the boxes made in Tarsus school. Together with children from Tarsus school and one more school in Tarsus, we solved and made boxes with children.
